These are published properties of the molecule, given for identification. Values we cannot confirm are omitted rather than estimated. What these terms mean.

What this compound is

Twenty-eight residues with a single disulfide closing a ring of seventeen, which is most of the molecule, leaving a short tail at each end. Every peptide in this family is built on that same seventeen-residue ring.

Sequence

ANP amino-acid sequence in one-letter code, numbered by residue position
1SLRRSSCFGG RMDRIGAQSG LGCNSFRY
Three-letter code
Ser-Leu-Arg-Arg-Ser-Ser-Cys-Phe-Gly-Gly-Arg-Met-Asp-Arg-Ile-Gly-Ala-Gln-Ser-Gly-Leu-Gly-Cys-Asn-Ser-Phe-Arg-Tyr

The one-letter code gives the amino-acid backbone. Terminal modifications, where a compound carries them, are accounted for in the molecular weight above but are not visible in the letters.

Residue composition

Counted directly from the sequence above. ANP is built from 13 of the twenty standard amino acids across 28 positions.

Side-chain classes follow the standard grouping of the twenty proteinogenic amino acids. Composition is arithmetic over the published sequence and says nothing about how the molecule behaves.
